We are pleased to announce that Oana RĂDUCU, PhD student of the Doctoral School of Physics, Faculty of Physics, is first author of the an article published in Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces (Elsevier). Her work was selected for the front cover of Volume 262, Issue 115476 (June 2026).

In the article “Tunable gelatin-coated biosynthesized gold nanotriangles: Thermoplasmonic performance and in vitro therapeutic potential via on-demand visible-NIR LED activation”, the authors conduct a systematic evaluation of the physics phenomena of heat generation for the gelatin biosynthesised gold nanotriangles activated using low cost irradiation sources, as well as their therapeutic potential in treating breast cancer cells for photothermal therapy application.

Congratulations to Oana Răducu, her co-authors and her coordinator Assoc. Prof. Monica Focsan for this notable achievement.
