The Doctoral School Communication, Public Relations, and Advertising at the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences (FSPAC), Babeș-Bolyai University, celebrates an important international recognition at the International Conference on Research in Advertising (ICORIA 2026), held in Barcelona, between June 25-28..

PhD student Ana Maria Golea has received a Best Student Paper Award nomination for her research paper, The Human Behind the Data: Emotion AI-Driven Advertising and Its Cost to Privacy and Wellbeing, co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meda Mucundorfeanu. The nomination places the paper among the conference’s most outstanding student contributions and acknowledges the originality, scientific rigor, and contemporary relevance of the research.

The study investigates how the growing use of emotion AI in advertising affects consumers’ perceptions of privacy and well-being, addressing one of the most significant challenges posed by artificial intelligence in digital communication. By examining the balance between technological innovation and ethical responsibility, the research contributes to current international debates on AI-driven advertising and consumer protection.

The nomination highlights the growing international visibility of the research conducted within the FSPAC Doctoral School and reflects the high academic standards of doctoral education at Babeș-Bolyai University.
