Fulvio Raddi, a second-year PhD student in Cybernetics and Statistics at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FSEGA), Babeș-Bolyai University, participated as team captain in the selection process for the The Econometric Game, following the university’s admission to this highly prestigious international competition.

The Econometric Game, often regarded as the “World Championship of Econometrics,” is an elite academic competition organised annually in Amsterdam, bringing together a limited number of top universities worldwide to solve complex, real-world econometric problems.

In 2026, Babeș-Bolyai University was selected for the first time to participate, marking a significant institutional achievement and positioning the university alongside globally leading academic institutions.

The team was composed of:

Fulvio Raddi – second-year PhD student in Cybernetics and Statistics (team captain),

Mihai Achim – first-year PhD student in Cybernetics and Statistics,

Patricia Craescu – first-year Master’s student in Econometrics and Applied Statistics,

Daria Pop – first-year Master’s student in Econometrics and Applied Statistics.

Within this context, Raddi’s role as team captain highlights both his academic leadership and his expertise in econometrics and quantitative methods. Leading the team in a competition of this calibre involves coordinating analytical strategies, contributing to model development, and managing collaborative problem-solving under strict time constraints.

Overall, this participation represents a significant achievement within a globally competitive academic environment, where selection alone reflects excellence and offers exposure to frontier econometric challenges.
