Viviana Hutuleac successfully defended her PhD thesis at the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences (FSPAC) at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB). Her research focuses on the complex relationship between children and media in the context of parental migration, a subject of growing relevance in today’s globalized world. Hutuleac’s thesis explored how children left behind by migrant parents use media to cope with emotional challenges, and maintain familial bonds. The research provides valuable insights into the impact of media on children’s socialization and psychological well-being in the face of migration-induced family separations. The defense was attended by faculty members, colleagues, and researchers, who commended the candidate for her rigorous analysis and contributions to both media studies and migration research.
