Between 27-30 June 2022, the Centre for International Negotiations in partnership with the European Paradigm Doctoral School (Faculty of European Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca), is organising the first edition of the Diplomacy and Negotiations Summer School.

The complex nature of contemporary diplomacy as well as the negotiation process calls for a set of specific skills and a particular type of training in order to be able to tackle complex challenges. The instability of the international system, the increasing fragmentation in inter-state relations, the increasingly complex, co-dependent relations between states and actors, all call for an increased focus on negotiating skills.

The Summer School aims to provide participants with a framework for hands-on training through lectures and simulations of international negotiation processes, employing the expertise and knowledge of professional negotiators and academics from home and abroad with experience in the negotiation field. Through this event, participants will explore the ins and outs of international and European diplomacy and negotiations and enjoy interactive lectures, debates and thematic workshops, each informed by modern approaches.

The Diplomacy and Negotiations Summer School runs from 27 to 30.06.2022, in a hybrid format: on-site (at the Faculty of European Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University) and online, in Romanian and English.
