Silvestru – Iulian CALINCIUC, a PhD Candidate at the Doctoral School of Communication, Public Relations, and Advertising within the Faculty of Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University, supervised by PhD, University Professor Habilitation Ioan HOSU, recently took part in a scientific conference held on March 31, 2026, at the University of Sussex, Falmer (Brighton), United Kingdom.

Calinciuc Silvestru-Iulian presented “Constitutional Recognition of Sign Languages” at the conference hosted by the University of Sussex’s Faculty of Law, Political Sciences, and Law. He discussed Deaf Studies and the importance of constitutional recognition of sign language to support the Deaf community, focusing on four European Union countries— Austria, Hungary, Portugal, and Finland. Furthermore, 10 nations worldwide with constitutional recognition of sign language. These include countries from South America (Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela), Oceania (Fiji), and Africa (The Gambia, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe).
