Lehel Csillag presented new results at the NEB-21 Conference in Corfu on a collaboration with Erik Jensko (UCL, London), exploring the geometry underlying k-essence theories. They showed that a linear action in a non-Riemannian geometry with integrable vectorial nonmetricity is on-shell equivalent to a quadratic purely kinetic k-essence model, offering a geometric interpretation of Scherrer’s influential theory [Phys. Rev. Lett. 93, 011301].
