Between 7th – 11th July 2025, Mr. Silvestru-Iulian CALINCIUC, a Ph.D. candidate of the Doctoral School of Communication, Public Relations and Advertising, FSPAC within the Babes-Bolyai University served as the moderator/chair of a session at the Deaf Identity and Policy Rights Symposium at ICED, Rome, Italy. He interacted with the deaf/hard of hearing international university professors, researchers, PhD candidates, and teachers at elementary, primary, and secondary school, and gave a presentation entitled “Analysis of Communication in Sign Language and the Rights of the Deaf in the Context of Artificial Intelligence Aspects: Deaf Education, Information Access, and Justice. Case Study: School of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in Bivolarie, Romania (Liceul Tehnologic Special Bivolarie, Vicovu de Sus, Suceava)”. This is the latest important international congress of Deaf Education in order to understand what the world of communication needs to be a major one for sign language. The 24th edition of ICED, held in Rome, Italy, was a symbolic return to Milan. In a historical context, the event was first held in Milan, Italy, in 1880. The International Congress on the Education of the Deaf (ICED) was the world’s first, with the inaugural event taking place in Paris in 1878.
