Between May 21–24, four PhD students from the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University are participating in the 33rd edition of the NISPAcee international conference—one of the most important academic gatherings in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of public administration and governance.

This year’s theme, “Polycrisis and Multi-Level Governance: Impacts, Lessons Learned, Challenges and Opportunities,” highlighted the complexity of current challenges and the need for coordinated, adaptable, and inclusive governance.

PhD students Ioana Nisioi, Mihaela-Ionela Furculiță, Giorgiana Avram, and Ovidiu Puiu presented research papers addressing topics highly relevant to today’s context: from digital innovation in public administration, diaspora engagement in local development, to gender discrimination in academia and civic responses in times of crisis.

Their participation represented not only an academic validation exercise, but also an opportunity to connect with international research networks, exchange ideas, and gather valuable feedback that will support the development of their doctoral projects.
