His research, titled on deepfakes and debunking received an excellent evaluation from the defense committee. Eduard Gross’s work delves into the rapidly evolving realm of deepfake technology, which uses artificial intelligence to create hyper-realistic but fake videos and audio recordings. The defense took place in the presence of an international panel of distinguished academics as a part of the European PhD program of our university. They highlighted the cabdidate ability to blend theoretical insights with real-world applications, providing valuable recommendations for both scholars and practitioners in the fields of communication and media. His research offers a roadmap for navigating the ethical and practical challenges posed by this technology, ensuring that the integrity of digital communication can be upheld in an increasingly complex media landscape. Following his successful defense, Eduard-Claudiu Gross expressed gratitude to his advisors, colleagues, and family for their support throughout his doctoral journey.
