On April 29, 2024, at The Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences the public defense of the PhD thesis A Cross-Cultural Perspective on the Differences in Business Communication between Japan and the Central Eastern European Countries of the doctoral candidate Fimiaki Tajiri was organized. The thesis examines intercultural communication between Japan and Central and Eastern European countries such as Poland, Romania and Hungary. Based on the results of a survey with more than 900 Japanese, Polish, Hungarian and Romanians respondents working in multinational corporations and two focus groups, Fumiaki Tajiri succeeds in highlighting the peculiarities of intercultural communication in the above-mentioned context. The paper has relevant theoretical and practical implications.
