Howard Louthan is Professor of History and Director of the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota. He specializes in the cultural and intellectual history of early modern Central Europe with a special focus on religion. He is the author and editor of several books including Print Culture at the Crossroads: The Book in Central Europe (Leiden, 2021), A Companion to the Reformation in Central Europe (Leiden, 2015), and Converting Bohemia: Force and Persuasion in the Catholic Reformation (Cambridge, 2009).
